KREATOR Gods Of Violence
HotIt’s been five years since Kreator released their masterpiece ‘Phantom Antichrist’, in my opinion the best album in their career….and yes, I have then taken their 1989 classic ‘Extreme aggression’ into account. Anyway, the wait is finally over as the successor entitled ‘Gods of Violence’ has now been made available to the waiting horde. The recipe is more or less the same as last time and that’s a good thing, why change a formula that works so extremely well. Once again I’m blown away by the guitar work from Millie & Co, not that it’s so extremely technical but rather their ability to create tasteful, well arranged harmonies and lead parts as well as driving aggressive riffs. Backed up by an extremely tight and driving rhythm section and Millie’s aggressive and charismatic vocals on top makes ‘Gods of Violence’ a worthy follow up to ‘Phantom Antichrist’. All ten tracks on the album are premium quality and the production is excellent and that’s pretty much sums it up. ‘Gods of Violence’ sees Kreator defending the throne as kings of thrash metal, and in contrast to many other bands with a 30 year long career to look back at these guys sounds more vital today than ever. That’s impressing.
