WISDOM Marching For Liberty
HotWisdom is a Hungarian power metal band that was founded back in 2001. Ahead of ‘Marching For Liberty’ they have released two studio albums, ‘Words Of Wisdom’ (2006) and ‘Judas’ (2011). Their music can be described as a mixture of up-tempo traditional heavy metal and power metal in the vein of Rhapsody, while the lead guitars at times are moving more towards neo-classical metal. The comparison to Rhapsody is most obvious in the powerful, atmospheric and sing-along friendly choruses. To underline this link even further the guys invited Fabio Leone to do a guest appearance on the title track. The lyrical concept is still spinning around the life of The Wiseman, the bands mascot and the main character of the lyrics as well. Wisdom is definitely not introducing anything revolutionary to the genre and I’m sure some will claim that we have heard it all before. One thing you can’t take away from the guys though is the fact that they have managed to compose some damn good, catchy and atmospheric power metal anthems performed in a convincing manner and at the end of the day that’s basically what it’s all about, isn’t it?
