AMON AMARTH Berserker
Hot
Amon Amarth, the undisputed Swedish kings of melodic death metal strikes again with their eleventh full length album entitled ‘Berserker, and as always our Swedish friends have delivered pure quality. Amon Amarth is a band that have remained true to their style over the years, and the formula is pretty much the same as always this time as well. With that stated I must add that they have incorporated a few new elements on ‘Berserker’ to refine their sound even further and it sounds refreshingly good. 12 tracks filled with explosive riffs and melodic hooks over a blistering tight rhythm section, and of course with Johan Hegg’s unrivaled growles to top it all. The lyrical themes are basically centered around Viking sagas and Nose mythology as you would expect. All in all ‘Berserker’ is probably the most accessible Amon Amarth album to date and that will hopefully expand their fan base even further and earn the band well deserved success. Despite their already impressing discography I would still rank ‘Berserker’ among their best albums to date, probably top three.
