CONDEMNED His Divine Shadow
HotSan Diego based death metal band Condemned has been around for a while, it's actually ten years since their debut album 'Desecrate the Vile' saw the light of day. Now the band is back with their third effort entitled 'His Divine Shadow'. There's been quite a few line-up changes in the band over the years, actually guitarist Steve Crow is the only remaining member from the line-up that recorded the first two albums. The formula though is more or less the same though, just a bit refined with better production and in my opinion better vocals as well. The deep, de-tuned guitars alongside Tyson Jupin's (ex-Vile) impressing drumming creates a really massive wall of brutal, technical death metal. 'His Divine Shadow' is a very consistent product with ten tracks of pure quality, and behind all the brutality you will eventually discover a bunch of intricate and tasteful details. Without any further comparison I guess I can easily recommend this album to fans of bands like Suffocation or Cannibal Corpse.
