PLACE VENDOME Thunder In The Distance

Michael Kiske is without doubt one of my all-time favorite singers with his charismatic and wide range voice. He’s got an amazing voice control and I’m not sure he would be able to sing out of pitch even if he tried. Place Vendome is where Michael get the chance to show the melodic hard rock side of himself in collaboration with Dennis Ward, Kosta Safiriou and Uwe Reitenauer of  Pink Cream 69 and Gunther Wemo of Vandenplas. The project was originally put together by Frontiers Records president Serafino Perugino who have invited outside song writers to compose the material for ‘Thunder in the distance’, among others including Magnus Karlsson (Primal Fear), Timo Tolkki (ex-Stratovarius) and Tommy Denander (Radioactive). ‘Thunder in the distance’ is a well produced album consisting of thirteen tracks of high standard that I’m sure will please most fans of melodic hard rock. Kiske sings brilliant as always and the rest of the band does an excellent job as well. Those of you hoping to hear Kiske like he sounded in the glory days of Helloween will have to look elsewhere though.
