WARRIOR PATH The Mad King

Ok, so this album has been out for a few months already but I didn’t become aware of it until recently, so I decided to review it anyway. Warrior Path is a Greek based band founded and led by guitarist Andreas Sinanoglou, and for this new album he has joined forces with multi-instrumentalist and produces Bob Katsionis (known from several well know Greek acts), drummer Dave Rundle as well as ex-Lost Horizon singer Daniel Heimann. The music is very melodic and epic sounding heavy metal/power metal, not innovative by any means but the quality of the song material is actually quite impressing. I really enjoy what I hear from start to end and there’s not a single week moment in sight in my opinion. Another thing that makes this album stand out from the masses is the excellent and very powerful production. The guitarwork is excellent with tasty riffs and beautiful harmony and lead parts. I was a huge fan of Daniel Heiman’s vocals on the Lost Horizon albums, and his performance on The Mad King proves that his wonderful voice is still intact today. I can therefore highly recommend this album to any fan of traditional heavy metal and melodic power metal.
