ENTERPRISE EARTH Luciferous
HotAmerican deathcore outfit Enterprise Earth strikes back with their third full length album consisting of twelve new tracks and a total runtime of just above 50 minutes. A quite long album for the genre in other words. I haven’t heard any of their previous albums so I can’t say how their music has evolved over the years, but I definitely like what I hear on ‘Luciferous’. Front man Dan Watson (former Infant Annihilator) is a well known and respected name in deathcore circuits though, known for his ability to master the whole range of vocal styles and vocal effects the genre has to offer and he really proves himself worthy of the reputation with his contribution on this album. On the instrumental side Enterprise Earth is probably just as much technical death metal as deathcore, but of course with all the genre specific elements of deathcore well incorporated. Most of the material is aggressive and quite brutal, but yet both melodic and at times almost atmospheric and the guys knows precisely when to step off the accelerator just enough to give the listener a short break from the brutality. Enterprise Earth might not bring anything new to the table with this release, but still the quality of the song material alongside outstanding musicianship and a very good production makes ‘Luciferous’ stand out from the masses. So if you consider yourself a fan of deathcore there’s no need to hesitate.
