IRON MASK Fifth Son Of Winterdoom

‘Fifth son of winterdoom’ is the fo studio album from Iron Mask, a band built up around the Belgian guitar maestro Dushan Petrossi. The vocal duties have once again been handed to ex-Yngwie Malmsteen singer Mark Boals and he does a great job as always. When it comes to the music it’s pretty much business as usual for those who are familiar with Iron Mask, which means neo-classical power metal with focus on catchy melodies and some blistering guitar solos from Mr. Petrossi. All twelve tracks on this album are quite strong but still it’s the ten minutes long epic and catchy title track stands out as my personal favorite. ‘Fifth Son of winterdoom’ feels like a very natural follow up to ‘Black as death’ so if you liked that one I see no reason why you shouldn’t like this one as well.
