LEAVES' EYES Symphonies Of The Night

Leave´s Eyes has always been synonymous with quality and I like all their previous albums, but this time everything has really been taken to another level.  ´Symphonies of the night´ seed all the best of the previous albums cuminating into a magnum opus, featuring a real orchestra, choir, uilean pipes, irish wistle, fiddle and dulcimer. On top of this comes Liv Kristine´s clear and soar sophrano vocals and sporadic death grunts from Alexander Krull to add contrast and variation. All together all this sounds huge and bombastic, taking the listener on an epic journey through symphonic landsacapes. There´s not a single weak track in sight on this album, but if I should dare to pick a personal favorite I would have to say ´Hymn To The Lone Sands´. But with that said I must add that the main strength of ´Symphonies Of The Night´ is the all over atmosphere and therefore it should be concumed as one piece to get the best out of it. In addition to his vocal contribution Alexander Krull has given this album an excellent production. This is by far the  best Leave´s Eyes album to date, so do yourself a favour and buy this little masterpiece.
