MINDTECH Elements Of Warfare

Mintech is a Norwegian band originally founded in 2007, and after a long maturing process they have now released their debut album. According to the press release Mindtech is a metal band with focus on heavy and groovy riffs, melodic vocals and bombastic choruses. I guess that’s a fairly good description of the song material, but you can also hear slight elements of progressive metal in most of the songs. ‘Elements of warfare’ is an even album of consistent quality but still I feel that the absolute killer tracks are missing. The bombastic choruses are unfortunately not adequately bombastic and catchy enough to catch my attention either. It’s by no means a poor album, it’s actually more than decent for a debut but in order to achieve a major breakthrough the songwriting needs to be taken to another level. 'Enemy Within' is by the way my personal favorite track on the album.
