NOCTURNAL GRAVES ...From The Bloodline Of Cain

Nocturnal Graves is a new acquaintance to me, heading from the land down under and the band have been around since 2004. ‘…From the bloodline of Cain’ is their second full length album and their style is a brutal mixture of black metal and thrash, or blackened thrash metal as some like to name it. On the lyrical side Nocturnal Graves are mainly focusing on Satanism and occult related topics. Most of the songs are flying away in a blistering tempo, but every now and then the tempo is slowed down a bit to create some much needed variation. There are a few moments on this album where the band falls into a certain Immortal groove and those moments shows the band from its best side in my opinion. Nocturnal Graves aren’t offering anything new to the genre, but I’m quite sure that was never their intention either. They deserve credit for the energy shown in their performance, some good and groovy riffs and off course the cool voice of Nuclear Exterminator. I’m sure ‘…From the bloodline of Cain’ will appeal to fans of the genre.
