SHADOW OF INTENT Reclaimer

Deathcore is normally not my preffered musical territory, but I'll gladly make an exception for US based Shadow Of Intent and their latest release entitled 'Reclaimer'. Shadow Of Intent is actually so much more than just anonther deathcore band, and their music is an exciting blend of several music styles such as death metal, symphonic metal, power metal, deathcore and a touch of black metal. Their 2016 album 'Primordial' was an excellent debut and an early warning from a refreshingly different and exciting band with clear intentions, and on 'Reclaimer' everything has just been pushed one step further. The production is significantly better and the song material is also stronger and more varied than on the debut and that says alot since 'Primoridial' was a rock solid album as well. The instrumental performance is simply top notch with great balance between brutlity, technicality and melody, while the vocals is a blend of death growls and harsh screams that works perfectly well with the material. As already mentioned the production is excellent and if you use a sub or have speakers that are able to deal with low frequencies you will get the extra dimension brought by the "sub-bump-effects" that has become a popular ingrediens in the genre lately. 'Reclaimer' will certainly appeal to deathcore fans, but if you're fan of technical/melodic/symphonic death metal or extreme metal in general this is definitely one to check out.
