It´s been a while since I last listened to Sirenia, or any other female fronted sympho/goth bands to be honest. I was a fan of the genre years ago, but it came to a point were too many bands sounded more or less the same and then I lost intrest in the genre. Sirenia has existed since the beginning of the new millenium and their name has always been synonymous with quality. Multiinstrumentalist and composer is the only one left from the original line-up. The main female vocals is once again being taken care of by the very talented Emmanuelle Zoldan, who made her Sirenia debut with their 2016 album ´Dim Days Of Dolor´. She has a wide vocal range reaching from hard rock to opera and her voice suits this material just perfect  in combination with Velands additional clean and harsh vocals. The song material is quiet varied spanning from goth, via power metal to symphonic metal and all songs are premium quality and comes with an excellent production taken care of by Jacob Hansen. I´m sure fans of atmospheric and symphonic metal will appreciate ´Arcane Astral Aeons´, it´s actually one of the better albums I´ve heard within this genre for years.
